Statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today that Israeli security forces successfully recovered the bodies of two citizens who had been held captive in Gaza by the Hamas group.
The victims, Judy Weinstein-Haggai and Gadi Haggai from Kibbutz Nir Oz, were killed on October 7 and their remains had been held in Gaza since then.
“We share the deep sorrow of their families and of all Israelis,” said Netanyahu. “My wife and I send our heartfelt condolences. May their memories be a blessing.”
He praised the efforts of the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), calling the operation determined and successful.
Netanyahu reaffirmed the government’s commitment: “We will not rest until all of our hostages—both the living and the deceased—are brought home.”
