IAEA Confirms Strike on Isfahan Centrifuge Facility Amid Ongoing Israel-Iran Conflict
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed a strike on Iran’s Isfahan centrifuge production facility, a key site in the country’s nuclear infrastructure. The incident took place as Israel intensified its military campaign on the ninth day of escalating hostilities with Iran.
According to Israeli defense sources, the attack targeted what they described as “military infrastructure” in Iran’s southwest. The IAEA, while not assigning blame, verified damage to the Isfahan site, which is integral to Iran’s uranium enrichment program.
Tensions between the two nations have soared following Israel’s initial military operation earlier this month, which Tehran denounced as an act of aggression. Since then, the conflict has broadened, drawing international concern over regional stability and nuclear safety.
Global leaders and organizations have called for restraint, urging both nations to avoid further escalation. The United Nations Security Council is expected to convene an emergency session to address the crisis.
The IAEA has reiterated its appeal for all parties to respect the safety and security of nuclear facilities, warning that any further strikes could pose serious risks to both environmental safety and regional peace.
