President Isaac Herzog issued a clear warning at a German Unity Day event in Herzliya, hosted by German Ambassador to Israel Steffen Seibert. Herzog cautioned that distancing Europe from Israel would not only weaken regional cooperation but also serve the interests of extremists seeking to destabilize the free world.

“Turning its back on Israel at this time is turning its back on Europe’s own interests,” the President declared. “Isolating Israel plays directly into the interests of extremists who seek to destabilize and harm the free world.”

Herzog underlined the depth of Israel–Europe relations, stressing that continued collaboration across science, research, and culture benefits both sides. “The partnership between Israel and Germany, and also between Israel and Europe at large, serves the mutual interests of all partner countries,” he said. “It must continue.”

The President’s remarks highlighted Israel’s role as a strategic partner for Europe, particularly in areas of innovation, security, and stability. His message underscored that isolating Israel would not only damage bilateral ties but also weaken Europe’s position against shared global threats.
