Spain’s Sanchez Criticizes Israel Over Alleged International Law Violations
Strong Remarks After Beijing Meeting
Pedro Sanchez strongly criticized the Israeli government on Tuesday, accusing it of violating international law during ongoing tensions involving Iran.
He made the remarks during a press conference in Beijing after meeting with Xi Jinping.
Accusations of Breaching International Law
Sanchez stated that international law is being seriously violated by Israel. He said Spain has consistently described the conflict involving the United States and Israel as both illegal and a mistake.
He also repeated Spain’s position that the war was launched unilaterally and should not have taken place.
Call to Uphold Global Rules
Furthermore, the Spanish prime minister said the global community must return to basic principles of international law, especially at a time when the international order is under pressure.
He stressed that respect for international law is essential for peace, stability, and future development.
Spain’s Firm Position
Sanchez added that Spain continues to strongly defend international law on the global stage. He emphasized that this position reflects Spain’s commitment to stability and a rules-based international system.
