Elon Musk contributed over $250 million to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, according to recent Federal Election Commission filings. Musk, the billionaire owner of Tesla and SpaceX, became one of the largest financial backers in U.S. presidential campaign history, solidifying his role as a key political ally of Trump.
Of the total, Musk donated $239 million to America PAC, a super PAC he created to boost voter turnout for Trump. He also contributed $20 million to RBG PAC, a group working to assure voters that Trump would not enact a national abortion ban, referencing the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Musk’s influence extends beyond donations; he has become a close adviser in Trump’s transition team. Along with Vivek Ramaswamy, Musk is leading a task force focused on reducing government spending and regulations. The pair met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to rally support for Trump’s proposed budget cuts, including drastic reductions in federal workers and veterans’ healthcare programs.
