On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Ramat David Air Force Base in northern Israel, where he conducted a strategic discussion with senior Air Force officials, including Air Force Chief-of-Staff Brig.-Gen. Omer Tischler and Air Defense Array Commander Brig.-Gen. Gilad Biran. The Prime Minister received an in-depth briefing on the Air Force’s readiness across all sectors, with a particular focus on the north.
During his visit, Netanyahu inspected a display of combat systems at the base, including attack helicopters and jets. He was briefed on the offensive capabilities of these systems and their crucial role in both defensive and offensive operations against threats, both near and far.
Netanyahu also met with air crews, operators, technical teams, and commanders, praising their dedication and emphasizing the critical importance of their work in maintaining Israel’s security and military superiority.
“I am here at an air force base to closely monitor our preparations to meet threats from near and far. We are prepared for any scenario, both offensively and defensively,” Netanyahu stated. He further commended the Air Force, referring to it as Israel’s “iron fist” capable of striking the vulnerabilities of its enemies, and assured that the country is ready to respond forcefully if necessary.
