Netanyahu Vows Continued Action After IDF Thwarts Hezbollah Attack

TEL AVIV, Israel—Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered strong remarks today at the start of the government meeting, emphasizing Israel’s decisive response to an attempted attack by Hezbollah. Speaking from the Kirya in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu detailed the early morning operation that saw the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) preemptively strike Hezbollah positions, thwarting what could have been a significant assault on Israeli territory.

“Early this morning, Hezbollah tried to attack the State of Israel with rockets and drones,” Netanyahu stated. He noted that, under his directive, the IDF launched an intense preemptive operation to neutralize the threat, successfully destroying thousands of short-range rockets aimed at Israeli civilians and military personnel in the Galilee.

Additionally, the IDF intercepted all drones launched by Hezbollah, which were targeted at a strategic location in central Israel. “We are striking Hezbollah with surprising crushing blows,” Netanyahu declared, highlighting the IDF’s recent successes, including the elimination of Hezbollah’s Chief-of-Staff three weeks ago and the thwarting of today’s planned attack.

The Prime Minister issued a stern warning to Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, stating that today’s operation is part of a broader strategy to alter the security dynamics in northern Israel and ensure the safety of its residents.

“This is not the end of the story,” Netanyahu reiterated, signaling that further actions could be expected as Israel continues to confront threats from Hezbollah and its allies.
