An oil tanker was hit by an unidentified projectile off the coast of Oman, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations center.
UKMTO said the incident occurred about 9 nautical miles northeast of Ash Shishah, where the vessel was struck and suffered damage to its engine room, leaving it unable to operate normally.
All members of the tanker’s crew were reported to be safe following the incident. Authorities had not yet determined whether the strike caused any environmental damage.
Officials are currently investigating the incident to determine the nature of the projectile and the circumstances surrounding the attack.
