Pakistan and Qatar Join Forces to Tackle Drug Trafficking

Pakistan and Qatar have agreed on a unified strategy to combat drug trafficking, marking a significant milestone in their collaboration under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). This agreement came after a high-level meeting held at Pakistan’s Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) headquarters in Islamabad. During the meeting, Qatar’s General Directorate of Drugs received a detailed briefing on Pakistan’s anti-narcotics operations.

Both countries emphasized the importance of sharing intelligence and collaborating on counter-narcotics operations. As part of the visit, the Qatari delegation also toured Islamabad International Airport to assess Pakistan’s infrastructure and offered to help improve operational capabilities.

This partnership is part of Pakistan’s broader effort to strengthen regional alliances aimed at curbing the narcotics trade. The talks reflect a shared understanding that tackling cross-border drug smuggling requires coordinated action. Future discussions are expected to build on this constructive dialogue, further solidifying regional cooperation in combating drug-related crimes.
