President Herzog Urges Immediate Release of Hostage Twin Brothers Held by Hamas

On Passover, Herzog Visits Family of Ziv and Gali Berman, 556 Days After Their Abduction from Kfar Aza

On the second day of Passover, Israeli President Isaac Herzog and First Lady Michal Herzog paid a heartfelt visit to the temporary home of the Berman family, whose twin sons, Ziv and Gali, have been held hostage by Hamas for 556 days.

The twin brothers were abducted from their home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza during a brutal attack and have been held captive in Gaza ever since.

Describing Ziv and Gali as “wonderful and caring young Israelis,” President Herzog emphasized the urgency of their release, declaring it a matter of supreme importance for anyone who values freedom and peace in the region.

Accompanied by the twins’ aunt, Macabit, and their brother, Idan, Herzog reiterated his call for international pressure to secure the immediate release of all hostages.

“This must be the immediate and supreme demand of all who believe in freedom and wish for a better future for our region,” he said.

The visit, deeply symbolic during the festival of Passover—celebrated for freedom and liberation—served as a solemn reminder of the ongoing humanitarian crisis and the unresolved fate of many abducted Israelis.
