SpaceX Starship Spins Out of Control After Mid-Test Explosion
SpaceX launched its ninth Starship test flight on Tuesday from its facility in Texas. However, the mission faced critical issues after the rocket’s booster exploded before its planned ocean landing.
The explosion triggered fuel leaks, causing the spacecraft to spin uncontrollably during its return through Earth’s atmosphere. SpaceX confirmed that its flight team lost control of the vehicle’s altitude during re-entry.
This incident follows a similar failure in March when the eighth Starship test flight exploded shortly after liftoff, prompting temporary flight suspensions and safety warnings about falling debris.
