Spain has announced that Israeli companies will be barred from participating in the 2025 International Defense and Security Exhibition (FEINDEF) in Madrid. Defense Secretary Amparo Valcarce stated that this decision aligns with Spain’s commitment to promoting peace in Palestine and Lebanon and adhering to international humanitarian law.
The exclusion of Israeli firms stems from ongoing concerns regarding Israel’s actions in the occupied Palestinian territories and Lebanon. The decision follows an incident where a group of international delegates, including former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau and European Parliament member Jaume Asens, were attacked by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank while accompanying Palestinians during an olive harvest.
FEINDEF, recognized as one of the world’s top ten defense fairs, is set to take place in Madrid from May 12 to 14, 2025, and will feature over 400 companies from around the globe.
