Squash Icon Jansher Khan Joins PSA Hall of Fame

Pakistani squash legend Jansher Khan was inducted into the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Hall of Fame in a special ceremony at the Hong Kong Football Club on Sunday. He was honored alongside Malaysian squash icon Nicol David, recognized for her record 108-month reign as the World No. 1. The induction ceremony, held ahead of the Hong Kong Squash Open, marked the third and fourth members to be inducted into the newly launched PSA Hall of Fame, joining previous inductees Susan Devoy and Jahangir Khan.

Khan’s career, which helped solidify Pakistan’s dominance in squash during the 1980s and 1990s, boasts a record eight World Championship titles and six British Open wins. With 97 months at World No. 1 and a career total of 99 professional titles, Khan remains a towering figure in the sport. He expressed his joy at receiving the honor in Hong Kong, a place he has fond memories of from his career, including eight victories at the Hong Kong Open.

Similarly, Nicol David, one of the greatest female squash players, was honored for her eight World Championship titles and her unmatched run as World No. 1. Since retiring, she has focused on her Nicol David Organization, which supports youth through sports and education.

PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough praised both Khan and David for their extraordinary contributions to squash, noting their lasting legacies and impact on the sport globally.
