Trump Renews Threat Of Military Action Against Iran

Netanyahu Pushes For Iran Strike As Trump Weighs Diplomacy

US President Donald Trump has renewed warnings of possible military strikes against Iran, suggesting that Washington could eventually resort to force if diplomatic efforts fail to resolve tensions between the two countries.

Speaking at a rally in Iowa on Sunday, Trump said he had avoided further military action because he wanted to prevent additional loss of life and give negotiations an opportunity to succeed. However, he warned that the United States might eventually have to take stronger action against Tehran.

The president had previously indicated that American forces still had one or two potential targets remaining in Iran, raising concerns about another round of military operations. Among the locations he specifically mentioned was Pickaxe Mountain, a suspected underground nuclear facility in Iran’s Isfahan province.

His latest comments came amid continuing uncertainty over diplomatic negotiations intended to prevent renewed American and Israeli attacks on Iran. The confrontation originally escalated into conflict on February 28.

According to US media reports, Trump held discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday concerning negotiations with Tehran and the possibility of further military action.

Axios reported that Netanyahu was advocating an immediate military strike following Tuesday’s US midterm elections. Trump, however, reportedly preferred giving diplomatic negotiations additional time before considering another attack.

The differing positions highlight ongoing disagreements over how Washington and Tel Aviv should approach Iran, as diplomatic efforts continue alongside renewed military threats.
