Turkey Stocks Rise Monday

Turkey’s benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, closed Monday at 9,681.11 points, marking a 0.3% increase from the previous trading day. The index added 29.11 points compared to Friday’s close.

During the day’s trading, the index fluctuated between a low of 9,573.86 and a high of 9,703.24, with a total transaction volume reaching 81 billion Turkish liras ($2.33 billion).

As of 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), the exchange rate for the US dollar to the Turkish lira stood at 34.7275, while the euro and British pound traded at 36.4590 and 43.9010 liras, respectively.

Meanwhile, gold prices were at $2,654.06 per ounce, and Brent crude oil was priced at $71.90 per barrel.
