Türkiye Calls for Gaza Ceasefire, Urges Two-State Solution

Türkiye Demands Gaza Ceasefire, Pushes Two-State Solution at Madrid Talks

Türkiye has renewed its call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and pressed for the realization of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz voiced Ankara’s position during the Madrid Group meeting, where European and Arab nations gathered to discuss efforts to end the ongoing war in Gaza.

Yilmaz emphasized the urgent need for uninterrupted humanitarian aid access to the besieged territory, highlighting the worsening civilian crisis as a result of Israel’s intensified military campaign. He reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to a sustainable peace grounded in international law and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.

The Madrid Group, which includes representatives from the European Union, Arab League, and other key stakeholders, met amid mounting global pressure for a diplomatic resolution. Türkiye’s strong stance aligns with growing international demands for de-escalation and a long-term political framework to resolve the conflict.

Yilmaz also warned that continued violence could destabilize the broader Middle East region and underscored the importance of collective international action to end hostilities and restart peace negotiations.
