President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed Türkiye’s readiness to host direct talks between Russian and Ukrainian leaders, emphasizing the urgent need for negotiations to end the ongoing war.
Erdogan called for immediate diplomatic engagement to prevent further loss of life and suffering. “We stand prepared to facilitate a peace summit whenever both sides are ready,” he said, reiterating Türkiye’s commitment to promoting dialogue and de-escalation.
As the conflict continues to claim lives and destabilize the region, Türkiye positions itself as a neutral ground for potential peace efforts, urging both nations to pursue a political resolution.
