West Indies to Tour Pakistan for Test Series After 19 Years

After nearly two decades, the West Indies men’s cricket team is set to return to Pakistan for a highly anticipated two-match Test series in January 2025, marking their first Test tour since 2006. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made the announcement on Tuesday, confirming the historic tour as part of the ICC World Test Championship.

The tour kicks off on January 6, when the West Indies team lands in Islamabad. Prior to the Test matches, they’ll face off against Pakistan Shaheens in a three-day warm-up match from January 10 to 12 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The Test series itself will take place in Multan, with the first match running from January 17 to 21 and the second from January 25 to 29. While this will be the first Test tour to Pakistan for the West Indies in 19 years, the team has previously visited for limited-overs cricket, including an ODI series in Multan in June 2022 and two T20I series in April 2018 and December 2021.

Meanwhile, the PCB also confirmed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. This decision has already been communicated to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
