Xpeng Aeroht, the flying car subsidiary of Xpeng, announced a milestone at the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, securing 2008 pre-orders for its modular flying car, the Land Aircraft Carrier. These orders, placed by 12 clients from sectors including transportation, tourism, real estate, and tech, represent the largest single order in the flying car industry.
During the event, held from November 12 to 17, Xpeng Aeroht also showcased the first public flight of its modular flying car. The company intends to launch pre-sales by the end of 2024, with full-scale production and deliveries slated for 2026. The flying car is expected to be priced below 2 million yuan (approximately $277,390).
Founded in 2013 and majority-owned by Xpeng, Xpeng Aeroht focuses on Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles. The new flying car design includes both a flying car unit and a parent vehicle that can recharge it. Additionally, Xpeng Aeroht is constructing a manufacturing facility in Guangzhou capable of producing up to 10,000 units annually.
