Zelenskyy says no European plan seen

Ukraine leader dismisses peace proposal talk

Zelenskyy Says No European Peace Plan Presented as Consultations Continue

ISTANBUL — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday that he has not received any formal European peace plan to end the war, despite several countries proposing ideas for a settlement.

“The key question here is, have I, as the president of Ukraine, seen this plan? No,” Zelenskyy said during a briefing, according to Interfax-Ukraine. “There are different European perspectives and proposals for achieving peace.”

No Concrete Plan from the West or Russia

Zelenskyy noted that neither U.S. President Donald Trump nor European leaders have succeeded in convincing Russia to join direct peace talks.

Since beginning his second term in January, Trump has made ending the war in Ukraine a top priority. He met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska in August and later suggested a trilateral meeting that would include Zelenskyy. However, Moscow has insisted that any meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy must be carefully prepared and lead to real outcomes.

Plans for another Trump-Putin summit in Budapest also failed to materialize.

Advisory Consultations Continue

“Consultations are ongoing at the advisory level, but no finalized plan is currently on the table,” Zelenskyy said. He added that if Europe does finalize a proposal, Ukraine will coordinate discussions with the United States, which has its own strategy for peace efforts.

Reports suggest that the European peace proposal—still in the early stages—includes a ceasefire along the current frontlines, followed by structured negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.

U.S. Delegation to Discuss Drone Agreement

Zelenskyy also announced that a U.S. delegation will visit Ukraine next week to discuss a new drone production deal aimed at strengthening the country’s defense sector.

“The U.S. drone deal team will be in Ukraine next week,” he said. Strategic Adviser Oleksandr Kamyshin will represent Ukraine’s exports in Europe, while National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov will handle outreach efforts across the Middle East and Asia.

Energy Funding and International Support

The president highlighted Ukraine’s ongoing energy funding challenges, saying the country still needs $750 million of the $2 billion required for gas imports this year. However, he confirmed that Europe will provide an additional €127 million in support.

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine will continue to hold regular virtual meetings with world leaders to coordinate international assistance for its energy sector. The next session is scheduled for next week.
