Laredo, Texas – On July 29, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the World Trade Bridge uncovered a significant drug smuggling attempt. Hidden within a commercial shipment of auto parts, officers found 373 pounds of marijuana, valued at over $835,000. The discovery was made after a secondary inspection, which included a non-intrusive examination and the use of CBP canines. Port Director Alberto Flores praised the officers’ vigilance and targeting strategies, emphasizing their critical role in preventing the flow of narcotics into local communities.
