Defense Minister Gallant Commends Pilots for Operation Against Hamas in Gaza

On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant visited the IAF airbase in Nevatim to meet with the fighter pilots and support teams involved in a recent operation targeting a Hamas compound in Gaza. The operation, which took place in Khan Younis, aimed at top Hamas targets, and the Minister was briefed by Brig. Gen. Yotam Sigler on the operational activities conducted over the past several days.

Minister Gallant expressed his profound appreciation for the efforts of the IDF, ISA, IAF, combat troops, the Operations Directorate, and the entire general staff. He praised their accurate and professional operations, which he said are crucial for maintaining Israel’s freedom of action and achieving strategic goals.

In his remarks, Gallant highlighted the impact of the recent operations: “Thanks to your work, we have the freedom of action and flexibility to create the necessary conditions for the return of the hostages. Hamas is no longer able to rebuild its capabilities. We will continue pursuing Hamas terrorists for years to come.”

Gallant emphasized the continuous erosion of Hamas’ capabilities due to the IDF’s efforts. He noted the significant damage inflicted on Hamas’ command posts, weapon warehouses, communication rooms, and weapon production facilities in Rafah. He stressed the importance of these operations in preventing Hamas from regaining its military and industrial strength.

“The pursuit of Hamas terrorists will continue for years to come – from the most senior ones to the terrorists in the field,” Gallant stated. “We must remember what Hamas did to us and ensure that any terrorist who committed atrocities on October 7th is brought to justice. We must also deter any future attempts to conduct such heinous acts.”

Gallant’s visit and remarks underscore Israel’s commitment to maintaining pressure on Hamas and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.–News Desk
