UN Seeks $255M to Aid 2M Displaced Ukrainians in 2025

Humanitarian Lifeline: UN Appeals for Urgent Funds to Support Ukraine’s Displaced

The United Nations migration agency has launched a $255 million appeal to assist two million displaced Ukrainians in 2025, as the ongoing conflict continues to uproot lives and strain resources. The funding is aimed at providing critical humanitarian aid, including shelter, healthcare, and employment support for those affected.

With the war showing no signs of abating, millions of Ukrainians remain in dire need, facing harsh conditions both within the country and across borders. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) warns that without adequate funding, essential services could collapse, exacerbating the crisis.

“This is a race against time,” said an IOM spokesperson. “We need global solidarity to prevent further suffering.”

The funds will be allocated to housing assistance, psychosocial support, and employment programs to help displaced families rebuild their lives. With winter approaching, emergency relief, including food and heating supplies, remains a top priority.

As international donors weigh their contributions, the appeal underscores the urgent need for sustained global support. Experts warn that without immediate intervention, the humanitarian toll will continue to rise, deepening the struggle for millions of displaced Ukrainians.
