Hamas Agrees to Free 10 Hostages Under Ceasefire Terms

Hamas Responds to US Deal, Proposes Hostage Release and 60-Day Truce

Hamas Offers to Release 10 Hostages in Response to US-Backed Ceasefire Deal

GAZA CITY:
Hamas has submitted its response to a US-mediated ceasefire proposal, confirming on Saturday that it is willing to release 10 living hostages currently held in Gaza as part of the deal. The announcement marks a potential breakthrough in ongoing diplomatic efforts to end months of conflict.

The White House had earlier confirmed that the latest ceasefire plan was approved in advance by Israel. The proposal reportedly includes the release of 10 hostages and a minimum 60-day truce, aimed at creating space for further negotiations and humanitarian relief in Gaza.

Though Hamas stopped short of fully accepting the draft as presented, it emphasized willingness to proceed with the exchange and hinted at a broader framework for de-escalation.

Israel, however, maintains a hardline stance. On Friday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hamas to accept the deal and free the hostages or face complete destruction.

The international community continues to push for a durable ceasefire as civilian casualties mount and regional tensions rise. Washington and regional mediators remain engaged in talks aimed at securing a final agreement.
