World-renowned pole vault champion Armand Duplantis shared a Halloween-themed photo on Instagram, mimicking the signature shooting pose of Turkish silver medalist Yusuf Dikec. In the image, Duplantis, 24, dressed in a white Türkiye t-shirt and glasses, strikes a cool demeanor similar to Dikec’s viral pose from the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Dikec and his teammate Sevval Ilayda Tarhan secured Türkiye’s first-ever Olympic medal in shooting by winning silver in the mixed team 10-meter air pistol competition, narrowly losing to Serbia. The “Yusuf Dikec pose” gained popularity during the Games, becoming a trendy stance among various athletes.
Duplantis celebrated his gold medal victory in Paris, where he set a new pole vault world record at 6.25 meters, later surpassing it with a jump of 6.26 meters in a subsequent Diamond League event in Poland. Halloween, observed on October 31, inspired Duplantis’s festive tribute to his fellow athlete.
