The French football league’s appeals commission confirmed on Friday its previous decision that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) must pay €55 million ($59.5 million) to their former star, Kylian Mbappe, according to French media reports.
In September, the LFP’s legal commission ruled in favor of Mbappe, but PSG disputed the claim, arguing they did not owe him any money and appealed the decision. The two sides presented their cases again on October 15.
The 25-year-old forward had previously declined a mediation offer and stated that PSG owed him three months’ salary along with additional bonuses.
In July, Mbappe departed PSG after a seven-year tenure to sign a five-year contract with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
During his time at PSG, he won six French league titles and also played a key role in France’s victory at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
