Sunday, August 11, 2024, Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant visited the Tel Hashomer military recruitment base, where he received a briefing from senior IDF officials. During his visit, Gallant held a discussion with new recruits joining the Nahal and Kfir Brigades and toured the military base.
In his address to the recruits, Minister Gallant issued a stern warning to Israel’s adversaries, particularly Iran and Hezbollah. “The enemies from Iran and Hezbollah are threatening to harm us in ways they haven’t done in the past,” Gallant stated. “Whoever does this may expect a blow from us unlike any other in the past. We have significant capabilities. I hope they will rethink and not lead to the outbreak of war on additional fronts.”
Gallant underscored the gravity of Israel’s situation, highlighting the nation’s ongoing struggle. “The State of Israel is fighting for its existence within a hostile environment. We have been at war for 10 months on seven different fronts. The key to our security is our people.”
Addressing the recruits directly, Gallant emphasized the significance of their service during this challenging time. He reiterated Israel’s right to self-defense and expressed hope that the IDF’s actions would lead to stability, while also cautioning that nothing is guaranteed. “We must be prepared for a more complex reality, even if it is not what we desire. We must be ready for it,” he concluded.–News Desk
