On August 6, 2024, Israel’s Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant visited the Tel-Nof Air Force Base, where he engaged with combat pilots, drone operators, mechanics, and additional troops. Gallant emphasized the continuous enhancement of Israel’s defensive and offensive readiness.
“With every day that passes, we enhance our readiness for defense and sharpen our offensive capabilities,” Gallant told the servicemembers. Reflecting on recent achievements, he praised their successful operations, including a significant attack in Houdeidah, the elimination of Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif, and the removal of Hezbollah’s military chief, Muhsan.
Gallant also underscored the critical cooperation between Israel and the United States. “Yesterday, I met with CENTCOM Commander General Kurilla and held discussions with Secretary Austin, who spoke with the President of the United States and additional senior U.S. officials. They are determined to support us and to work together – the cooperation between Israel and the United States is critical to our readiness,” he stated.
The visit included a meeting with the Commander of Squadron 133, Lt. Col. E., and discussions on the servicemembers’ recent activities and preparations for potential actions. Gallant concluded by highlighting the values driving their operations: courage, determination, and perseverance.
“Courage is doing the right thing at the right time, determination is knowing that you may pay a price and being able to act in spite of it, and perseverance relates to the fact that these matters take months,” Gallant said, commending the servicemembers’ dedication and achievements.–News Desk
