India Seal Series as Brisbane Finale Washed Out

India Triumph in Australia T20 Series Despite Brisbane Rain

India Clinch T20 Series After Brisbane Washout

Rain Ends Series Decider Early

India secured a 2-1 victory over Australia in the T20 series after the fifth and final match in Brisbane was washed out.

Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill gave India a strong start, reaching 52 without loss in just 4.5 overs. Their momentum ended abruptly when a thunderstorm swept across the Gabba, forcing both teams off the field.

Persistent Rain Ends Hopes of Play

Although the storm moved on, heavy rain continued to fall. After several inspections, the umpires decided to abandon the match as conditions showed no sign of improving. It was the second rain-affected game of the series, following the washed-out opener in Canberra on 29 October.

India Take Series Despite Melbourne Setback

Australia had claimed victory in the second match in Melbourne. However, India’s wins in Hobart and on the Gold Coast were enough to secure the series 2-1. The tourists displayed strong form despite weather disruptions across the tour.

Focus Turns to World Cup Defence

India will now shift their attention to the upcoming T20 World Cup, which they will co-host with Sri Lanka in February. As defending champions, they will aim to carry their winning form into the tournament.
