Iran Estimates $270 Billion Losses from US-Israeli Strikes
Preliminary Damage Assessment Released
Iran has estimated that recent US-Israeli strikes caused approximately $270 billion in damages, according to government officials.
Fatemeh Mohajerani stated that the figure is based on early assessments and may change after further evaluation.
War Reparations Under Discussion
She explained that Iran’s negotiating team is actively raising the issue of war reparations during ongoing diplomatic efforts. This topic also formed part of recent talks held in Islamabad.
However, she emphasized that the current estimate is not final, noting that authorities will review damages in multiple stages.
Conflict Escalation and Impact
The conflict intensified after the United States and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran on February 28. These attacks resulted in significant casualties and widespread destruction.
In response, Iran carried out retaliatory strikes targeting Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and several Gulf countries that host US military facilities.
Ceasefire and Continued Tensions
Although both sides agreed to a two-week ceasefire last week, tensions remain high across the region.
Meanwhile, Iranian and US officials held 21 hours of negotiations in Islamabad. Despite lengthy discussions, both sides failed to reach a final agreement.
