Israeli Strikes Kill Three Lebanon Escalation Continues
At least three people have been killed and 11 others injured following a series of Israeli air and drone strikes across southern Lebanon on Saturday morning, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency.
In one incident, a drone strike hit the town of Ansar in the Al-Marj area, killing a father and his son and injuring several other family members. Seven people were reported wounded in the same attack.
Another strike targeted a pickup truck on the Sharifa–Habboush–Nabatieh road, resulting in one fatality and leaving another person in critical condition.
Additional drone attacks were reported near the road leading to Nabatieh’s government hospital, where three individuals were injured.
Earlier in the night, Israeli warplanes struck the town of Harouf, destroying a residential building in the Al-Thaghra neighborhood. The airstrike was accompanied by artillery shelling that also impacted nearby areas, including Jibchit and surrounding regions.
Lebanese health authorities reported that separate strikes in the southern Tyre district on Friday resulted in multiple casualties, including civilians and a paramedic, further increasing the death toll and injuries in recent attacks.
Despite an existing ceasefire agreement that came into effect in mid-April and was later extended through ongoing negotiations, Israeli forces have continued military operations in southern Lebanon.
According to official figures, thousands of casualties have been recorded in Lebanon since the escalation of hostilities began, reflecting a continuing deterioration in regional security and humanitarian conditions.
