Sisi Urges Iran to End Regional Escalation

Sisi Presses Iran to Restore Regional Stability

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday urged Iran to take all possible steps to reduce regional tensions and work toward a comprehensive and lasting peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis.

Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, according to the Egyptian Presidency.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to efforts aimed at restoring stability across the region and stressed that any peaceful settlement should respect the sovereignty of regional states while protecting their populations and resources.

Sisi also called for an end to attacks against Arab countries, pointing to the importance of good-neighborly relations as well as the longstanding historical and cultural connections among the region’s peoples.

The meeting took place on the final day of the two-day BRICS summit, which brought together leaders from BRICS member states and partner countries.
