Macron Says France Will Not Join Middle East War
ISTANBUL — Emmanuel Macron, president of France, said his country is not participating in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and has no plans to enter the war.
Macron delivered the message through a voice response on Instagram, addressing a young social media user who expressed concern about the consequences of recent military strikes by Israel and the United States against Iran.
France not involved in the conflict
Macron said he understands public concern but stressed that France is not taking part in the fighting.
He clarified that France has no intention of becoming involved in the war and is not a participant in the conflict.
Instead, he explained that France’s current actions focus on protecting its citizens and supporting its allies in the region.
Military presence aimed at protection
Although France has increased its military presence, Macron emphasized that the move is defensive rather than offensive.
Paris recently sent additional assets to the region, including the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, as tensions rise following the recent strikes and Iran’s response.
According to Macron, French forces are helping allies intercept drones and missiles while ensuring the safety of important maritime routes.
Efforts to secure global trade routes
Macron also noted that France is working with international partners to strengthen protection for key sea lanes in the region.
These routes play a crucial role in global trade and energy supply.
He said France aims to build a cooperative effort with allies to secure maritime traffic while avoiding escalation.
Commitment to restraint and diplomacy
Despite the rising tensions, Macron stressed that France intends to act carefully and responsibly.
He said the country will continue to pursue peaceful efforts and maintain a balanced role in the region.
According to Macron, France’s priority remains stability, protection of its citizens, and support for partners such as Lebanon.
