US Signals Deeper Strikes as Iran Conflict Expands
The United States has announced plans to intensify its military campaign against Iran as fighting spreads across the region.
US Plans Expanded Military Action
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that US forces will begin striking progressively deeper inside Iranian territory. At the same time, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that the operation remains in its early stages. He urged Americans to understand that the situation could develop further in the coming days.
Naval Clash and Missile Interception
Meanwhile, the conflict has widened beyond Iran’s borders. According to Hegseth, a US submarine torpedoed and sank an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. In addition, NATO air defense systems intercepted and destroyed an Iranian missile that traveled through the airspace of Iraq and Syria and moved toward Turkey.
Officials in Ankara confirmed that the missile did not enter Turkish airspace. The interception highlighted growing regional risks as military operations continue.
Rising Casualties in Iran
As the fighting intensifies, the human cost continues to climb. The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency reported that more than 1,000 people have died in Iran since the war began. The organization did not immediately provide a breakdown between civilian and military casualties.
Diplomatic Closures and Evacuations
In response to the deteriorating security situation, Washington has closed US embassies in three countries and reduced diplomatic staff across the region. Officials have also advised American citizens to leave affected areas as soon as possible.
At the same time, the United Arab Emirates announced that it has opened safe air corridors in coordination with neighboring states. The move aims to help countries evacuate stranded nationals safely and efficiently.
Regional Tensions Grow
Overall, the conflict has expanded beyond its initial flashpoints, drawing in regional actors and increasing international concern. Military leaders continue to monitor developments while diplomatic channels work to manage the crisis.
