PM Shehbaz: The World Must Hear Gaza’s Voices

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urgently called on the global community to heed the cries of Gaza’s suffering population. Addressing a special session at the D-8 Summit on the crisis in Palestine and Lebanon, he expressed gratitude to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for organizing the timely meeting.

PM Sharif condemned Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza, which has now expanded into the West Bank, warning that this could spark a wider regional conflict. He described the ongoing violence since October 2023 as one of the darkest humanitarian crises in modern history, urging the world to recognize its catastrophic scale.

Pakistan has consistently stood against Israel’s actions in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria. The Prime Minister also condemned Israel’s attacks on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which serves as a lifeline for millions of displaced Palestinians.

Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for a just solution to the Middle East conflict, grounded in international law and UN resolutions. He stressed the need for a viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders.

Calling for a global ceasefire and reconstruction efforts in Gaza and other war-torn regions, the Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s humanitarian aid to Palestine, delivered through Egypt and Jordan. He concluded with a poignant appeal: “The world must listen to the innocent voices of Gaza.”
