Sri Lanka has sentenced 15 people convicted in connection with the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks to prison terms ranging from 200 to 260 years, according to the Daily Mirror.
Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Naufer, also known as Naufer Moulavi, received a 220-year sentence, while four other convicts were given the same term.
Four defendants were sentenced to 240 years each, while five received 200-year sentences. Another convict was handed a 260-year sentence.
The verdict was issued by a three-member High Court Trial-at-Bar panel consisting of Justices Navaratne Marasinghe, Ramanathan Kannan and Sujeewa Nishshanka.
The court also ordered the confiscation of properties belonging to all 15 defendants.
The ruling represents the final judgment in the trial connected to the attacks, which took place on April 21, 2019, Easter Sunday.
A series of eight explosions struck locations in and around Colombo and other parts of Sri Lanka, killing at least 250 people.
