Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and French President Emmanuel Macron met Tuesday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to the Syrian presidency, the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen relations between Syria and France, along with developments and issues affecting the wider region.
Their discussions also covered international developments and matters of mutual interest between the two countries.
The meeting took place as world leaders gathered in New York for the high-level week of the UN General Assembly, which began Tuesday.
