Bahrain Arrests Three Over Alleged Hezbollah-Linked Cell
Authorities in Bahrain have arrested three individuals accused of forming a “terrorist cell” connected to Hezbollah, according to an official statement from the Interior Ministry.
Allegations of Foreign Coordination and Espionage
The ministry stated that the suspects coordinated with external groups and attempted to carry out espionage activities. Officials said these actions aimed to undermine national sovereignty, create fear among residents, and threaten the country’s security.
The individuals have been identified as Ahmed Ahmed Hussain Madan, 24, Hassan Abdulameer Ashoor, 22, and Muntadhar Abdulmohsen Ali Madan, 29.
Training and Overseas Links
According to investigators, the suspects traveled to Lebanon, where they allegedly met members of Hezbollah and received weapons training. Authorities also claim the group shared images and information related to the effects of Iranian actions on Bahrain during the ongoing tensions involving the United States and Israel.
Funding Activities Under Charity Cover
In addition, officials accused the group of collecting money under the pretense of charitable work. They allegedly transferred these funds to support Hezbollah’s operations in Lebanon.
Authorities believe the suspects were preparing for future instructions from group leaders to carry out planned attacks within Bahrain.
Case Referred for Prosecution
The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science confirmed that investigators completed all required legal procedures. Officials have now referred the case to the public prosecution for further action.
