Trump Schedules China Visit for Trade Talks

China Trip Gains Importance After Tariff Ruling

Trump to Visit China for Trade Talks with Xi Jinping

WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump will travel to China from March 31 to April 2, a White House official confirmed on Friday.

The three-day visit is expected to center on trade discussions between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Focus on Trade Relations

During the visit, both leaders are likely to address ongoing trade matters and explore possible agreements. Although officials have not released detailed plans, trade negotiations will form the core of the talks.

Earlier on Friday, Trump’s trade strategy faced a setback. The US Supreme Court struck down his global tariff campaign, which he had used as a primary tool to pressure other countries into negotiating new trade deals with the United States. As a result, the upcoming meeting in China may carry added importance for his administration’s economic agenda.
