UAE Air Defenses Block Iranian Drone Missile Attacks

UAE Stops Large Iranian Drone Missile Wave

UAE Intercepts Iranian Drones and Missiles Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions

ISTANBUL – The United Arab Emirates said on Friday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a fresh wave of attacks launched by Iran, including 27 drones and seven ballistic missiles.

New Wave of Interceptions

According to the UAE Defense Ministry, the country’s air forces quickly responded to the incoming threats and prevented them from reaching their targets. Authorities confirmed the details in an update shared on the social media platform X.

As a result, the latest interceptions increased the total number of Iranian drones and missiles stopped by the UAE since the conflict began.

Rising Numbers of Attacks

Officials reported that Iranian forces have launched 1,567 drones and 285 ballistic missiles toward the UAE since hostilities started. Meanwhile, air defense systems have also intercepted 15 cruise missiles, according to the Defense Ministry.

These figures highlight the scale of the ongoing attacks and the continued pressure on regional defense systems.

Conflict Expands Across the Region

Tensions in the Middle East have intensified since Israel and the United States carried out joint strikes on Iran on Feb. 28. Reports indicate that about 1,300 people died in those attacks, including Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran launched multiple drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf countries that host U.S. military bases.

As the confrontation continues, regional governments remain on high alert while international leaders call for efforts to reduce tensions.
