UN Warns 70% of Gaza Under Israeli Military Control or Restricted Zones
UNITED NATIONS — The United Nations reported Saturday that approximately 70% of the Gaza Strip is currently designated as under Israeli military orders or classified as militarized zones, significantly limiting civilian movement and humanitarian access.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric emphasized the growing concern over the situation, stating, “The UN stresses the urgent need for Israeli authorities to facilitate safe and unrestricted humanitarian access throughout Gaza.”
The statement comes amid ongoing military operations that have heavily impacted infrastructure and displaced large portions of the civilian population.
With the majority of Gaza falling under restricted status, aid agencies are struggling to deliver essential supplies and medical assistance to affected communities.
The UN has repeatedly called on Israeli authorities to uphold international humanitarian law and ensure aid corridors remain open and accessible.
