US Approves Potential Sale of Military Spare Parts to Ukraine
WASHINGTON —
The US State Department has approved a potential sale of Class IX spare parts and related equipment to Ukraine, the Pentagon announced Friday.
Estimated Cost and Purpose
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) stated that the estimated cost of the sale is $185 million. The equipment aims to help Ukraine maintain and repair US-provided vehicles and weapon systems efficiently.
Supporting Ukraine’s Military Operations
According to the DSCA, Ukraine urgently needs to strengthen its local maintenance capabilities. The spare parts are expected to increase battlefield effectiveness by improving operational readiness, streamlining logistics, and reducing financial strain through faster and more resilient repairs.
The measure reflects continued US support for Ukraine’s defense capabilities amid ongoing security challenges.
