Trump Signals Possible Breakthrough Ukraine War Peace Talks

G7 Summit Discussions Highlight Ukraine Conflict Resolution Efforts

US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that there may be a potential opening to advance peace efforts aimed at ending the war in Ukraine after holding separate discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Speaking during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian, France, Trump said both leaders appeared willing to consider steps toward resolving the conflict. He noted that recent conversations with Zelenskyy and Putin were “very good” and suggested that progress might be possible.

Trump also remarked that the Iran conflict is “finished,” adding that Washington would now shift its attention toward efforts to end the Ukraine war. He expressed optimism that diplomatic engagement could help move the situation forward.

The US president emphasized that he had conducted two positive conversations on Sunday and believes both sides may be open to exploring possible solutions.
