LA Olympics Chairman Regrets Past Maxwell Emails

DOJ Files Reveal Wasserman Correspondence With Maxwell

LA 2028 Olympics Chairman Expresses Regret Over Past Emails With Ghislaine Maxwell

LOS ANGELES

The chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, Casey Wasserman, has said he “deeply regrets” sending flirtatious emails to Ghislaine Maxwell more than two decades ago, following the public release of new documents by the US Department of Justice.

The emails, sent in 2003, appeared among millions of records published by the Justice Department on Friday as part of ongoing disclosures related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Emails Surface in DOJ Document Release

In one exchange, Wasserman wrote to Maxwell, “I think of you all the time,” and added a sexually suggestive comment. The messages predate Maxwell’s criminal conviction and became public only after their inclusion in the newly released files.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in recruiting and trafficking teenage girls for sexual abuse by Epstein, who died in custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Wasserman Responds With Statement of Regret

Following the disclosure, Wasserman acknowledged the emails and expressed remorse over the correspondence. He said he regrets the messages and emphasized that they were written many years ago, long before Maxwell’s criminal activities became publicly known.

The revelations have renewed public attention on individuals named in the Epstein-related files, which continue to prompt scrutiny due to the scale and scope of the document release.
