Police respond to early morning gunfire

Police in Toronto, Canada are investigating a shooting that occurred outside the United States Consulate General Toronto early Tuesday morning. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured during the incident.

According to local police, officers responded to reports of gunfire at 5:29 a.m. local time. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered evidence showing that a firearm had been discharged near the consulate building.

Incident treated as national security investigation

Later, Chief Superintendent Chris Leather from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said investigators are treating the case as a national security incident.

Meanwhile, Mark Carney issued a statement expressing serious concern about the attack. He promised that authorities would use every available resource to identify and prosecute those responsible.

“This is extremely concerning,” Carney said. “We will ensure the people responsible face the full force of justice.”

Suspects remain unidentified

So far, investigators have not identified any suspects. Authorities also said they have not determined the motive behind the shooting.

However, police released images of a white Honda SUV believed to be linked to the incident. According to investigators, two individuals briefly stepped out of the vehicle, fired shots toward the consulate, and then left the area.

Political leaders condemn violence

The incident occurred during a period of increased tension between the United States and Canada. As a result, several political leaders strongly condemned the act.

Doug Ford described the shooting as an unacceptable act of violence aimed at American allies.

He also emphasized that governments across Canada must clearly reject intimidation and dangerous behavior.

“Everyone at every level of government must show zero tolerance for this type of violence,” Ford said.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident while searching for the suspects involved.
