TEHRAN: Iran says eight soldiers were killed in overnight US airstrikes targeting southern parts of the country, as military tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to escalate.
According to Iranian state media, the strikes also killed two fishermen and injured two others in Hormozgan Province. The reported casualties followed a new wave of US military operations launched in response to attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced missile and drone strikes on multiple US military facilities across the region, marking another sharp escalation in the ongoing confrontation between the two countries.
