BEIRUT: Two people were killed in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, according to Lebanese state media, despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv.
The strike reportedly targeted two young men walking near Ghandour Hospital in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Separately, Israeli forces were reported to have carried out controlled explosions in the town of Taybeh in the Bint Jbeil district.
The incident comes despite a US-backed ceasefire framework signed in late June, which outlines a phased Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. However, military operations and border tensions have continued, raising concerns over the stability of the ceasefire and regional security.
