Kazakhstan Says Oil Exports Remain Stable Amid Attack Claims
Exports continue despite reported strike
Kazakhstan has confirmed that its oil exports remain stable despite claims from Russia that Ukrainian forces targeted infrastructure linked to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
Deputy Energy Minister Sungat Yesimkhanov stated that operations continue without disruption. He added that oil shipments through the CPC remain steady.
Russia reports damage to infrastructure
Earlier, Russian authorities claimed that Ukraine carried out a drone attack on oil facilities at the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. Officials said the strike aimed to disrupt global oil markets and affect supplies to Europe.
However, Kazakhstan emphasized that its export systems remain unaffected.
Ukraine reports separate strike
Meanwhile, Ukraine has not directly responded to Russia’s claims. Instead, Ukrainian military officials reported targeting oil-loading infrastructure at the Sheskharis terminal, located near the CPC facility.
They stated that the strike caused significant damage, including a large fire at the site.
Regional attacks raise concerns
In addition, local authorities in Russia reported widespread drone attacks in the Krasnodar region. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said the attacks injured several people and damaged residential buildings in Novorossiysk.
Oil supply remains steady
Despite the escalating situation, Kazakhstan maintains that its oil exports continue without interruption. Officials stressed that operations across all routes remain stable.
As tensions persist, global markets are closely monitoring developments in the region.
