Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Türkiye opposes both the attacks on Iran and Iran’s retaliatory strikes on regional countries.
During a phone call on Friday, the two leaders reviewed bilateral ties and exchanged views on key regional and global developments.
Warning Over Black Sea Stability
Erdogan raised concerns about security in the Black Sea. He warned that attacks on civilian vessels threaten regional stability and could worsen tensions linked to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
He stressed that the ongoing Iran crisis must not trigger further instability in the Black Sea region.
Call to Restrain Israeli Policies
In addition, Erdogan criticized the policies of the Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu. He urged the international community to prevent further escalation.
Furthermore, he emphasized that any actions that undermine the status of Jerusalem are unacceptable and must be avoided.
