Fidan holds bilateral talks during Washington visit
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held separate high-level meetings with officials from Cambodia and Vietnam during his visit to the United States.
Fidan traveled to Washington to attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace. While there, he engaged in diplomatic talks aimed at strengthening Türkiye’s international partnerships.
Meeting with Cambodia’s prime minister
In Washington, Fidan met Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the meeting but did not release details, as both sides conducted the discussion behind closed doors.
Talks with Vietnam’s foreign minister
Later, Fidan also met Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung. Officials held the talks privately and did not provide specific information about the agenda or outcomes.
Broader Asia-Pacific engagement
These meetings reflect Türkiye’s growing focus on the Asia-Pacific region. Through its “Asia Anew Initiative,” Ankara seeks to expand strategic, economic, and diplomatic cooperation.
In addition, Türkiye continues to strengthen trade ties and participate actively in regional organizations. As a result, the country aims to build deeper partnerships across one of the world’s most dynamic regions.
